Who we are

saigonapartment.vn is an independent English-language publication about living in and travelling around Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This policy explains what information the site collects and what happens to it.

What we collect

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to understand which guides are read and how people arrive. This records pages viewed, approximate location by country or city, device and browser type, and referring site. It is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.

Server logs. The web host records standard request logs including IP address, timestamp and user agent. These are used for security and troubleshooting.

Comments. If comments are enabled on a guide and you leave one, the name, email address and comment text you submit are stored.

The site does not ask for, collect or store payment details, passport details, visa documents or any other sensitive personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are used for analytics and for basic site function such as caching. Third-party services embedded in some guides — notably accommodation search and booking widgets — may set their own cookies under their own policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the guides will still work.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination service may record that the visit came from this site in order to attribute a booking. This is handled by the merchant, under the merchant's own privacy policy. See the affiliate disclosure for detail.

Third parties

Data is not sold, rented or traded. The services that process data on our behalf are the web host, Google Analytics, and the affiliate and booking partners whose widgets appear in some guides.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data the site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Analytics data is retained for 14 months; server logs are retained for a short operational period.

This policy is updated when the site's practices change. Material changes will be noted here.
